DaysCounter is my first (and currently only) app published on Google Play. It is constantly maintained and improved since beginning of 2017. I learned a lot since then. Application was downloaded more than 10k times and has about 5k active users per month (at the time of writing this blog post). I thought it’s the time to do translating DaysCounter app!
DaysCounter was available only in English and Polish for 3 years. This app is free and I don’t have any resources to pay for professional translations. Who could help with that? Of course community! I have asked my users whether they would like to help in translating DaysCounter to their mother languages. I have received feedback both via email andblog contact form.
As a result, app is currently available also in Turkish language. Italian and Macedonian are coming. I hope for bigger installs thanks to providing more languages and native user experience. Other than that, I have to add new languages on Google Play app page. My biggest audience is in USA and UK so there won’t be any changes but maybe more people from other countries will see app and will want to contribute. There is also big audience in Germany (second place) but unfortunately I don’t support German right now. I will write another blog post in 2-3 months about changes in installs and active users. Will be any difference thanks to supporting more languages? Can pet project with only organic growth be better positioned in Google Play thanks to that? Will see!
Thanks DaysCounter’s users!
